Thomas Ernst
Founder, Owner and CEO

He is bicyle mechanic and polygraphic engineer HF and loves riding all kinds of different bicycles and e-bikes and has been holding the world record in folding "Bromptons" for many years. After leaving the army (in bicycle troops), he started selling military bicycles. Subsequently, he discovered the niche markets for tandems, folding bicycles and cargo bikes. In record time, he rode to London, Rotterdam, Sweden and to the region of Tuscany by different types of bicycles and e-bikes.
Nadine

Nadine is a trained bank clerk and business economist HF. She has been taking care of the bookkeeping, payment transactions and personnel administration since 2011. Nadine rides her e-bike in summer and winter. She is the mother of two daughters and often travels with her dog. She also works as a class assistant in a kindergarten.

Urban has been with Velo Zürich since 2013. With 35 years of relevant work experience, he is also familiar with older technology and is capable of repairing any 3 gear box. He knows every single detail of his own bicycle. He loves spending the cold winter days in warm countries.
Thomas Hofer

Thomas used to run his own bicycle shop and has been working for Velo Zürich since 2014. He uses his Brompton folding bike on a daily basis for the last mile to the shop. He loves spending his leisure time with his family, especially after having a newborn in 2017.

Felix completed apprenticeship at Velo Zürich in 2017 to become a full team member. He repairs bikes and advises customers 5 days a week. Thanks to his English skills, he loves to serve clients from different countries. He is passionate about music and festivals.

Nick joined us in October 2022. In his free time he likes to build his own individual bikes. He is usually on the road with a trail bike or a dirt bike. As a suspension fork specialist, he will expand our workshop in 2023.

Marcel enhances Velo Zürich in the field of information technology. He develops economic solution for the complete digitalization of distribution platforms. He rides his FLYER Upstreet6 to and from work and has enough energy to climb Uetliberg in the evening.
Ali
Sales consultant

Ali used to run the bicycle department of a large distributor. Now he works 50% for us and 50% for our sister company Velo Winterthur. His great passion is fishing. Of course, he also spends a lot of time with his family, which has a new baby girl since 2020.
Marco
Bicycle Mechanic

Marco runs the bicycle shop in Winterthur. He has been with us since 2016 and is in touch with Velo Zürich on a daily basis. He loves to ride his e-cargo bike Packster with his daughter and when fully equipped, he goes on adventourous trips with his sporty wife. Marco is a band leader, guitarist and singer. There is always music in the Winterthur shop.
